You’ve gotten your invitation, you’ve made it to this site, now it’s time to get to know the Bride and Groom a little better.  You probably know one or the other very well, but this page should help round out your knowledge of the happy couple…

Kelly Rain Collin is the daughter of Fred Collin and Eileen Phillips, her brother is Jason Collin and her step-sister is Cristin Brown.  Kelly Rain was born in Visalia, California and grew up in the Central Valley between a grape vineyard and a cotton field.  In high school, Kelly Rain’s sports of choice were gymnastics and acrobatics, which she has remained connected to throughout her adult life.

Kelly Rain received two Bachelor degrees, in Child Development/Child Mental Health and Psychology, from California State University, Northridge (CSUN).  She received her Masters degree from Harvard in Education, focusing on Risk and Prevention.  Today she is the Founder and President of  Healthy Minds Consulting, an advocacy firm focused on helping families navigate the special education system and advocate for services for students with special needs.

Dærick William Gröss is the eldest of two children of Dærick (Rick) and Lola-Jean (Lolly) Gröss, his younger sister is Vanessa Kirby.  Dærick was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up there through age 6 before moving to Simi Valley, California.  In high school, Dærick’s sport of choice was soccer, which he followed well into adulthood.  Dærick has three adult daughters (all in the wedding party) and an infant grandson.

Dærick received his Bachelor degree in Fine Art, with a focus in two-dimensional media.  He is a practicing illustrator with over twenty years of commercial publication experience, primarily in fantasy gaming and comic books.  He is associated with Studio G, a commercial illustration studio founded by his father.  Dærick is also a professional Project Manager and Scrum Master for Agile software development.  That’s jargon for making sure the youngin’s in the office get their homework turned in on time.

Together, Kelly Rain and Dærick live in Redondo Beach, California.  They enjoy the local beach community, dancing, and the occasional poker game.
